KSD Spray Drying Nozzle

KSD Spray Drying Nozzle is engineered for high-flow, high-pressure industrial drying applications. Featuring a large orifice and a unique swirl chamber design, it produces larger droplets with uniform size distribution, minimizing product waste. Its durable construction includes a tungsten carbide swirl chamber and a carbide alloy orifice, secured for pressures up to 340 bar. Available in sloped-bottom (for extended wear life) and flat-bottom (for reduced clogging) designs, it offers flexibility and reliability. With spray angles from 19° to 104°, it is ideal for a wide range of demanding applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and dairy industries.

Design Features

Unique swirl chamber design ensures optimal performance of spray drying nozzles, ensuring even droplet distribution and uniform droplet size with minimal product waste.

Pressures up to 5000 psi (340 bar) – swirl chamber secured to orifice insert using stainless steel locking screws, flow rates up to 3019 gph (11,340 L/h).

Swirl chamber type options

Sloped bottom design minimizes erosion of the swirl chamber bottom by reducing the “drilling” effect of fluid rotation in the swirl chamber, extending wear life.

Flat bottom design with large channels reduces clogging and downtime.

Durable construction

Nozzle body is made of 303 stainless steel, swirl chamber is made of tungsten carbide, and orifice insert is made of carbide alloy. Swirl chambers and orifices are available in other materials upon request.
